Since I have started making videos about Germany, I get many messages from many people and those messages contain many questions and although the words of these questions are always different, a common question is always hidden in them – is Germany worth it?
Is there any benefit in coming here or not? But be very careful while asking these questions because you will find many people giving free wrong advice. It is not necessary that the experience is the same as mine, it is possible that your experience may be a little better. So always ask a follow up question, why is it good, why is it bad? If yes, then ask me why.
My experience in Germany was very good.
I came here to study, then I also got a job, now my PR is also done, I have applied for nationality and today in my video I want to tell you why this experience of Germany was so good for me and to answer this why, maybe a 10 minute or 6 minute or 4 minute video is not enough, so I will mention only three things. The things that had a very good effect on my life, the most important thing is free education
Apart from Germany, tell me any economy in the world that is this big and provides free education. Tuition fees are such a big sword that only those who live in UK, US, Australia can tell about it. When the deadline of their semester is coming and the semester is ending, they already start worrying about the fees of the next semester. During my studies, I never had to worry about this thing. There came a time when I decided that I have to focus on my studies and I will stop my job for a while and I could do whatever I wanted.
I had to take out my expenses and they were only for day to day expenses and it was never like I had to pay a fee of Rs. 100,000. Now I will meet many people who will say that you also have to deposit the blocked account. Brother, the blocked account is your own money which remains blocked in your own account and you keep getting it back on a monthly basis. Its purpose is never that The German government will take your money. That money is yours which is kept only to make sure that you do not face any problem to meet your expenses and if you ask me, before choosing any country, you must see how it treats its immigrants.
When there is a crisis there, when there was a war in Ukraine, those people started killing Indian and Pakistani students there. When the time of Covid came, immigrants started running away from Australia, US, UK and students started going there because there was a crisis here, people were traveling a lot. On the other hand, Germany was providing even two free education countries and subsidized us. In many states, money was given to students on a monthly basis.
In many places where money was not being given, coupons were given so that they can do their grocery on a regular basis. While applying for visa, when we go to the visa officer and he asks us that after completing studies from Germany, you will go back, so let’s be.
Honestly we all lie, yes we will go back and later serve the country, 90% of the cases this is not true, especially those who are not going back soon, after spending a particular time they will do the investment and then they will go back, settlement is a very big motivation, especially those Indians who are Pakistanis or people from third world countries.
They come because they want to make a life for themselves, they want to support their family, they have responsibilities. The process of permanent residence in Germany is very easy, very simple. You get a job, you get a blue card and you do B1 German, you can apply for PR in 21 months. On the other hand, if you do not meet the threshold hold, instead of salary you can get a blue card, then you can apply with a work permit in 2 years. In both these cases, you can get PR very easily.
In such a short period, if you ask me, there is no other economy in the world that gives you PR so easily. The third point is citizenship. Only he knows the value of a good passport who has to travel on a regular basis and has to apply for a visa. Like I am very fond of traveling and my office also requires me to travel on a regular basis whenever there is any work from my company. If it is an official trip, then all German colleagues do not need any visa and I always have to go through the hassles of embassies.
That is why I recently applied for citizenship and I was able to do it in just 5 years because a new law has come in Germany according to which if you are living in Germany for 5 years, you are paying tax and you have done B1 German, then on that basis you have some more different requirements but they are not that big. On that basis you can be offered citizenship.
Yes, in this case also you will have to learn German but what are you expecting, you will come to Germany and learn German, you will not learn Urdu or Hindi or Bengali. This is an obvious thing that you should know the German language to integrate in Germany. If this requirement was not there, then just think how miserable life would be. You will always stay in a corner in your community. You will not be able to integrate with people.
If you are demotivated, if you are not in your comfort zone. If you could go out, then the first thing is that you should not have come out of your country because whenever you come to another country, obviously there will be some difficulty, especially in the beginning. So, whoever wants to come to Germany, I always advise him that it is very important to come out of the comfort zone. It is very important to focus on the German language and it is very important to believe that we are going to another country which is very different from our country. When you start believing this, your life will automatically become easy and you will start seeing all the benefits of this place which are very obvious in front of us.
